Can you imagine what it was like to solve crimes 4,000 years ago? Now you can find out. We are hosting a murder mystery, Mesopotamian-style. When the farmer, Ishme-Marduk, found a stranger in the canal, he started to investigate.
Start by questioning the witnesses to learn what happened. Can you spot the lies? Can you solve the mystery and bring the murderer to justice? More importantly, can you convince the judge that you are right?
Learn justice, Mesopotamian-style, in a special 90-minute re-enactment. Suitable for curious adults, parents and grandparents with children aged 6 and over. Join us afterwards for FREE Mesopotamian style snacks and drinks.

Past Cultural Cache Events:
Thursday, June 6 - Behold the beauty of Rome at the Art Institute (5:30PM, 1.5 hours, $49)
A Goddess is ready for a night out at a festival in the Second Century A.D., when Rome ruled the West. Now she lives in Chicago’s Art Institute, waiting to greet you with big brown eyes and a serene smile, her beauty undimmed by the passage of time. And she’s not alone. The beauty of Roman civilization is all around her, in many forms. Paintings, busts, sculpture, and much more reside in the Institute’s recently renovated Ancient Art Galleries.
Cultural Cache art historian Joana Konova knows them well, and would like to introduce them to you. Join Joana for an evening of exploration and discovery as she guides you on an entertaining tour of selected works from the Art Institute’s Roman collections.
Thursday, June 20 - Relive the Renaissance at the Art Institute (5:30PM, 1.5 hours)
Where: Art Institute of Chicago
One evening on the banks of the Arno River over 500 years ago, artists started a journey on a new path for Europe. The solid, practicality of the Gothic era encountered a new generation of dreamers. Their spirit of discovery emphasized a new cultured outlook, as Italian artists explored the potential of our shared Greco-Roman past. Over the next two centuries, Renaissance Europe was to be reborn into an artistic mecca for the ages that still resonates today.
